This tool determines the air volume needed from Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV) to reduce radon concentration to a certain level. Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRV) are very useful as a second phase after Active Soil Depressurization (ASD) has reduced radon to near 4 pCi/L. They can reduce radon through dilution and from building materials (emanation). However, they are not suitable when the radon concentration is higher than 8 pCi/L.
Apporad -> Radon Tools -> Sizing HRV
HRVs can reduce radon through dilution, and they are helpful as a complementary system after Active Soil Depressurization (ASD) has reduced radon to near 4 pCi/L. HRVs are also suitable for reducing radon from building materials (emanation). However, they are unsuitable when radon concentrations are higher than 8 pCi/L.
